The sitting is attended by the People´s Deputies of Ukraine members of the Ukrainian part of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation, deputies of the European Parliament members of the European Parliament´s part in the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation, representatives of the Government of Ukraine, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, diplomatic corps.
The sitting is held under the co-chairmanship of Borys Tarasiuk, Chairman of the Committee on European Integration, Head of Ukrainian Part of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation, and Adrian Severin, Head of the European Parliament´s part in the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation.
The attendants of the sitting are to discuss the following issues: relations between Ukraine and the EU after the EU Summit in Paris (September 2008), conclusion of the Agreement on Association, Political and Economical Development of Ukraine and the EU, cooperation in the sector of Common foreign and security policy, economic and sectoral cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, especially creation of a free trade zone, cooperation in the fields of power engineering, justice, internal affairs, etc.
In the course of the exit part of the sitting in Yalta, the participants "will discuss regional development of Ukraine on the example of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea".
Final Statement and guidelines are to be adopted due to the results of the sitting.
The participants also drew attention to the crucial role of Ukraine in the energy safety of the EU and to the fact that "Ukraine´s provision of its energy independence is closely connected with its political stability and prosperity".
The attendants also dwelled upon complete and effective implementation of Agreements between Ukraine and the European Community on simplified visa issue and on readmission, as Ukraine relieved the EU citizens from the obligation to obtain visas.
